For a first Jade Dragon Snow Mountain visit, choose the landscape you actually want: Glacier Park for the high-mountain outing, Spruce Meadow for a forest-and-meadow walk, or Blue Moon Valley for lakeside views. I'd choose one main experience, then add the valley if the confirmed route leaves a comfortable day.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain's visitor areas include Glacier Park, Spruce Meadow, Yak Meadow and Blue Moon Valley. A package called “snow mountain tour” needs to say which of these it includes.

Glacier Park: choose it for the mountain itself

Glacier Park combines a cable-car ascent with a stepped walking route in high-mountain terrain.

This is the option I'd investigate if the mountain is the main reason for coming and you want the upper-mountain experience rather than a view from the valley. Use 冰川公园 when identifying the product; “big cable car” is a less useful name to keep on a booking.

Decide how much walking you want after the cable car. Reaching its arrival area and continuing along the walking route are separate decisions. You can judge the conditions and your comfort there instead of treating every further step as part of a challenge you have already paid to finish.

I'd make this the day's main outing. Add Blue Moon Valley only if the ticket and transport sequence works, and leave the evening in Lijiang easy. A tight dinner appointment is a poor reason to rush the mountain.

Spruce Meadow: choose it for forest and open views

At Spruce Meadow, a forest boardwalk leads into open meadow with views toward the snow mountain.

Choose 云杉坪 if the appeal is walking among trees and coming out to a mountain view. I'd favor it for someone who wants the woodland setting itself, rather than someone whose heart is set on the Glacier Park route.

Look at photographs showing the path and meadow, not only a close-up of a snowy peak. That helps you decide whether this is the experience you want. Forest, meadow and waterside scenery also make a coherent combination with Blue Moon Valley, without adding another cable-car destination just to increase the number of stops.

Yak Meadow: a conditional choice for open pasture

Yak Meadow is open mountain pasture within the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain area.

牦牛坪 is the name to compare if broad meadow scenery is what interests you. I'd leave it out of the default itinerary until the operator confirms that the specific visitor route is available for your date. Don't accept an old package description as that confirmation.

If it is available, choose it because the pasture setting appeals to you. You do not need to combine every meadow with Glacier Park. Ask for the exact product before paying, especially if a proposed substitution changes the landscape you came to see.

Blue Moon Valley: choose it for the water and reflections

Blue Moon Valley has blue lakes at the foot of the mountain, with waterside walking.

I'd choose 蓝月谷 as the focus when lake views and photography matter more than taking a mountain cable car. It can also be the additional stop after your main experience, provided the confirmed transport and ticket arrangements fit.

Choose how much of the waterside walk you want rather than add every possible stop automatically. Establish the return pickup point before setting off along the lakes. If you are buying a valley-only outing, have the seller identify what the transfer and admission include instead of assuming a mountain package is necessary.

Start with the Yunnan tourism overview to match the names and landscapes. It is background information, not a current ticket inventory. For the selected product, use the operator's current booking and operating notice; old suggested sequences do not establish today's cable-car service.

Settle the booking that matches that choice

Get the named cable car or visitor area, date, traveler document and transfer in one written confirmation. For a passport booking, resolve the document field before paying. Keep the product name in Chinese and save the confirmation offline.

For a pickup, send the hotel's Chinese name and pin. Agree on the actual collection point and return arrangement. If a cable car is unavailable, decide whether you want the proposed replacement before accepting it. A valley visit is worthwhile in its own right, but it need not be the substitute you wanted for a mountain outing.

Prepare for the actual mountain route

CDC recommends gradual ascent and discussing high-altitude travel plans with a clinician, particularly when the itinerary does not allow a gradual approach.

Discuss the route you are considering, including its walking, rather than ask only about visiting Lijiang. Follow your own medical advice and on-site safety instructions. An oxygen product included in a tour does not establish that the route suits you.

Pack layers, footwear and weather protection for the mountain forecast. Charge the phone and keep the return details accessible. If someone feels unwell, get help and reconsider the outing. Choose the experience you want, then give yourself permission to stop when you have had enough.
