What to see, where to shop, and how to plan one or two days.
I'd allow one to two days for Shenzhen's electronics markets, technology stores and interactive exhibits. With one day, focus on Huaqiangbei and one store in Nanshan. If technology is a main reason you're coming, I'd choose two. That leaves time to compare products, ask questions and stay longer in a shop that catches your interest.
For a shopping trip, give Huaqiangbei and Nanshan a day each. If robots or science are the bigger draw, keep the first day compact and use the second for Robot Block or the Science and Technology Museum in Guangming. Decide which experience matters most, then build the route around it.
Visiting during APEC in November 2026
Two dates to keep in mind for November: the APEC CEO Summit is on 17–18 November, and the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on 18–19 November, both in Shenzhen.
Around the meetings, leave extra time between stops. Shenzhen has announced temporary traffic restrictions in stages, with details to follow. Check the latest notices and confirm opening hours before setting off, especially if you have a booking to get to.
Choose what matters most to you
- Electronics markets: Huaqiangbei, Futian. Pair the museum with a focused browse at SEG. Allow longer if you're buying.
- Branded devices and newer gadgets: Nanshan. Choose one store on a one-day visit, or give two stores a more leisurely day.
- Robots and interactive hardware: Robot Block, Longgang. Consider a second-day outing after checking the activities available.
- Science exhibits: Science and Technology Museum, Guangming. Book first, then make the museum your main outing that day.
Check the journey from your hotel before committing to an appointment. Leave room for lunch and getting between districts, particularly if you plan to spend time comparing products.
Start with Huaqiangbei
SEG Electronics Market
Choose SEG if you want to spend time comparing electronics, components and accessories. It's a market of independent sellers, so take a first look around before deciding where to buy.
Find it: SEG Plaza, Huaqiangbei, Futian. Chinese navigation text: 深圳市福田区华强北路赛格广场.
For a specific product, speak to the seller before making the trip. Hours, stock and English help depend on the shop; the operator's visitor information doesn't list a general booking requirement.
Before paying, test the item you're taking home and ask the seller to put its condition on the receipt. Keep that receipt.
Huaqiangbei Museum
Start here if you're curious about the district's history. It gives you some context before browsing the electronics shops.
Find it: 5/F, Guangbo Modern Window Building, 1058 Huaqiang North Road, Futian. Chinese: 深圳市福田区华强北路1058号广博现代之窗大厦5楼.
Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–18:00; last entry 17:30. Closed Mondays, subject to holiday notices.
Reservations: You can visit without a reservation under the museum's August 2026 notice, although capacity limits may mean a wait. Groups that want a guide should call three days ahead.
For a guided visit, call +86 755 8320 2020. If you'd like commentary in English, ask about it when you call.
Technology stores in Nanshan
DJI at OCT Harbour
Put DJI on your list if there's a product you'd like to see before buying. For a particular demonstration, call ahead and ask what's available that day.
Find it: East No. 8 Baishi Road, OCT Harbour, Nanshan. Chinese: DJI大疆欢乐海岸旗舰店,深圳市南山区白石路东8号欢乐海岸.
Hours: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00–22:00; Friday–Saturday, 10:00–22:30.
The store page doesn't list an appointment requirement for ordinary shopping. Call +86 755 8666 5246 to ask about demonstrations and English-speaking staff for your visit date. Check specifically if you're hoping for a flying session.
Huawei at MixC World
Huawei is worth considering if you want help exploring its devices or would like to book a smart-home session. Workshops have their own sign-up links, so choose an activity before planning your visit around it.
Find it: Units SL113 and SL213, MixC World, Nanshan. Chinese: 华为旗舰店·深圳万象天地,深圳市南山区华润万象天地SL113及SL213.
Hours: Daily, 10:00–22:00. Phone: 400-655-8456. If you're calling from overseas, this number may not connect.
Use the activity links for workshops and smart-home sessions. Ask whether the session is available in English and whether you can register with an overseas phone number.

INNO100 at Shenzhen Bay Culture Square
Consider INNO100 if you haven't settled on a particular brand. Its range includes AI glasses, desktop robots, musical gadgets and 3D printers. What's on display can change, so check ahead if you're after one specific product.
Find it: L1, North Pavilion, Shenzhen Bay Culture Square, Nanshan. Chinese: INNO100全球创新旗舰店,深圳市南山区深圳湾文化广场北馆L1层.
The published hours are 10:00–22:00. The city listing doesn't specify a reservation requirement for browsing or provide an English booking contact. Treat this as a browsing stop; arrange a particular demonstration with the shop first.
Robot Block and the science museum
Robot Block in Bantian
I'd choose Robot Block if robots are a main reason you're visiting Shenzhen. Its robot and AI shops offer interactive experiences, but the day's programme matters. Check what's running before making this your second-day outing.
Find it: Intersection of Wuhe Avenue and Yanan Road, Bantian, Longgang. Chinese: 机器人街区,深圳市龙岗区坂田街道五和大道与雅南路交汇处.
Check with the individual venue for activities, opening times and charges. English support also needs arranging with that venue; there is no confirmed central English booking service.
Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum in Guangming
Make the museum your main stop if you'd like to spend time with interactive science exhibits, including robotics and space. Check the location when navigating: this is 深圳科学技术馆 in Guangming.
Find it: No. 8 Guanghui Avenue, Guangming. Chinese: 深圳市光明区光辉大道8号.
Book online in advance using your real name, and bring valid identification. In the 深圳科学技术馆 WeChat mini programme, follow 首页 → 购票 → 常设展厅门票. Some areas are free; the permanent exhibition halls on floors 3–6 need tickets.
If you're using a foreign passport or overseas phone number, sort out ticketing before you make the journey. Call +86 755 8202 5888 or email ticket@szstm.org.cn to ask how to book, which slots are available and whether English help can be arranged. These are general museum contacts.
Drone delivery at Talent Park
Drone delivery at Talent Park is an optional extra. Open Meituan or the 美团无人机 mini programme and check whether you can place an order for that location before making a detour.
Chinese navigation text: 深圳人才公园,深圳市南山区科苑南路3329号.
You need an available route, a named collection locker and an order your account can pay for. Park opening hours don't establish flight availability. If ordering doesn't work, carry on with the rest of your day.
If you have one day
Morning in Huaqiangbei
Start at Huaqiangbei Museum when it opens, then browse part of SEG. Bring a short list of anything you want to buy, ideally with exact model numbers, so you can compare like with like. If you're still testing products or talking to sellers around lunchtime, let the afternoon plan flex. The museum closes on Mondays; on those days, start with the market.
Lunch and the journey to Nanshan
Have lunch, then check the journey to your chosen Nanshan store. If you're getting what you came for in Huaqiangbei, I'd stay and finish there. You can save Nanshan for a second day or another visit. Keep extra room in the schedule during APEC week.
Afternoon in Nanshan
Choose DJI if there's a product you want to see, Huawei for its devices or a booked smart-home session, or INNO100 if you're curious about a mix of newer gadgets. Make one store the main afternoon stop. Once you've finished, check the time and journey before adding another.
If you have two days
With two days, choose between more shopping time and a separate robot or science outing.
More time for shopping
Give Huaqiangbei the first day and Nanshan the second. You'll have time to compare models, ask about warranties and go back to a seller with another question. In Nanshan, choose two stores and arrange any demonstration before deciding the order.
Add robots or science
Follow the focused one-day outline first, then choose Robot Block or the Guangming museum for day two. Robot Block makes sense if its scheduled activities appeal to you. For interactive science exhibits, choose the museum and sort out tickets first. Let the confirmed programme determine how long you spend there.
Arranging a visit in English
Give the venue your date, time and the activity you want, then ask whether someone can help in English. An English website doesn't establish who will be available that day.
Copy this message into an enquiry, or ask your hotel reception to help you call:
Enquiry in English
Hello, we'd like to visit on [date] at [time]. There will be [number] of us. Do we need to book [activity] in advance, and will someone be able to help us in English? If booking is needed, can we use a foreign passport and an overseas phone number? Could you also confirm the price and how to book?
Enquiry in Chinese
您好,我们一行[人数]人想在[日期][时间]到访,体验[项目]。请问是否需要预约?当天是否有会讲英语的工作人员?如果需要预约,能否使用外国护照和境外手机号码?请告知价格和预约方式。
For city-service questions, use Shenzhen's official English “Ask a question” page or 0755-12345. An August 2026 report describes an English option in the phone menu; follow the current prompts. Shop stock and demonstrations are questions for the venue itself.
Before buying electronics
Before comparing prices, make sure the device will do what you need when you get home. Ask about the exact model you're buying:
- Apps and software: Ask the seller to show you the apps, languages and services you use.
- Compatibility: Check it against your home mobile network and any accessories you plan to use.
- Condition: Is it new, already activated, refurbished or used? Have the answer recorded on the receipt.
- Warranty: Find out where you could take it for a repair in your home country, and confirm coverage with the manufacturer.
- Returns: Get the seller's terms in writing and keep an itemised receipt.
These details matter even with familiar brands. Huawei's support pages explain that account regions affect apps and services, and that its mainland smartphone warranty has territorial conditions. Ask which services the model you're buying supports in your home country.
Set up your preferred payment method before shopping, using PandaWander's money and payments guide. Ask each seller what they accept before agreeing to buy.
A few questions before you go
Can I visit a technology company headquarters?
The branded stores listed here are retail venues. For a headquarters or factory visit, seek a separate invitation or confirmed visitor programme. If you book a guided experience, get the meeting point, language, price and cancellation terms in writing.
Can I book with a foreign passport and overseas phone number?
Check with the venue before paying or travelling. Support for passports and overseas numbers hasn't been confirmed for every booking system here; contact the Guangming museum before making the journey.
Plan the rest of your visit
Tell PandaWander's China trip planner where you're starting and how much time you have. Mention the places that interest you, whether you'd like to buy anything and any appointments you've already made.
