How we check
1. Official sources first. For rules that can change, we cite the official source next to the claim. Examples include China's National Immigration Administration, Chinese embassy and consulate sites, the official English portals of city governments, attraction ticketing sites and China Railway's 12306. When the Chinese-language official notice is more detailed or more recent than the English page, we follow the Chinese notice and link to both.
2. Every rule carries a check date. Each page shows "Last checked YYYY-MM-DD". This is the date we last compared the page with its sources. A rule-heavy section can also carry its own check date.
3. Researched, provider-stated or first-hand, kept separate.
- *Official*: taken from a government or operator source.
- *Provider-stated*: what a company such as an eSIM, insurance or booking provider says about its own product. We do not present these claims as verified.
- *Personal advice*: city, route, food and where-to-stay recommendations, signed by Henry Zhang. Prices and rules quoted on those pages still come from official sources and carry a check date.
4. Update policy. We re-check pages on entry rules, visa-free lists and transit when official announcements change, and on a regular schedule. When a rule changes, we update the page, change its check date and, for significant changes, add a short "What changed" line. If we cannot confirm a detail, we say so and point you to the official source rather than guess.
5. Corrections. If something is wrong or out of date, email hello@pandawander.com with the page link. We review reports and correct confirmed errors.
How the site is paid for
Some booking links are affiliate links. If you book through them, PandaWander may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not add a booking fee, and providers handle payment, changes and refunds. Commissions do not decide what we recommend. Official channels are listed first where they exist. See our affiliate disclosure.
